Theme
Oxygenated lipids (eicosanoids and oxylipins) play key roles in cell signaling in development, in immune systems and in pathogenesis. This international meeting will focus on non-mammalian oxylipins and eicosanoids. The meeting will bring together leading scientists in oxylipin signaling, structural biologists working on enzyme mechanisms in oxygenases and related proteins, geneticists with interests in signal transduction and those interested in biomedical and industrial applications of eicosanoids and oxylipins. Special sessions will highlight oxylipin receptor biology and signaling in plants, animals and microorganisms. State of the art work on bacteria and non-mammalian eukaryotes including invertebrates, free-living and pathogenic fungi, as well as algae will be covered. An international leader in eicosanoid/oxylipin signaling (C.Raetz, member of the US National Academy of sciences) will present the opening lecture.
